FIFA Online Tailored To Football Fans

EA Sports chief Peter Moore has told us where the new iteration of the FIFA franchise will excel
Based on FIFA 10, the game aims to remove barriers to entry such as the need for an expensive console or PC, and is set to run on medium spec machines with an accesible control scheme.
"Consumer’s habits are changing, they have less time on their hands, their budget isn’t as big as it used to be," said Moore. "We need to grow our business organically, as an industry. The packaged goods side of our business is down, year-on-year, and we’d be foolish to hope everything gets better, rather than actually do stuff to make it better. How do you do that? Well, as we proved a few years ago, you can bring people into the world of gaming by providing innovative new experiences for people that would never call themselves an avid gamer."
“There's nothing more ubiquitous than a football fan around the world”
And Moore believes that all those passing gamers can be catered for with the right title. "I think we’re showing with FIFA Online that there’s nothing more ubiquitous than a football fan around the world; there’s nothing more global than that," the EA executive explained. "There are 2 billion people who would put their hand up and say, ‘I love football.’ Of those, there are hundreds of millions who have access to something where they could play a game on it, yet we clearly, as well as we’ve been doing with FIFA, haven’t been doing what we need to do, which is bringing all of those people in with a FIFA experience."
