Star Wars MMO 'a revolution'

Speaking exclusively to NowGamer.com, editor-in-chief of leading sci-fi magazine SciFiNow Aaron Asadi commented on the potential impact of new Star Wars MMO, The Old Republic.
When quizzed about the upcoming Star Wars game Asadi described the game as “perhaps the most significant release for the franchise since the underwhelming prequel trilogy came to a close”. “Star Wars is more than creator-driven – that stopped being the case a long time ago – it’s fan-driven and nothing will represent that better than an MMO. If it manages to live up to the hype, this could well revolutionise how sci-fifans invest in the franchise,” continued Asadi.

“The majority of the Star Wars universe can only remain dormant in a movie, or even in a TV series, but with networked interaction, the systems and planets that have widened the eyes of millions over the years can be realised in a way we’ve only ever dreamed about. It’s really quite exciting.”
LucasArts’ Star Wars: The Old Republic is due for release in 2010. In the meantime, stay tuned to NowGamer for all the latest news and previews.
